The Carentan region sits at the crossroads of several remarkable areas — the D-Day beaches to the north, the Normandy bocage to the south, the Manche coast to the west. I travel here regularly for weddings in estates and private properties that make up the quiet richness of the Cotentin.
The marshes, the bocage hedgerows, the low evening light over the wet meadows — this is a lesser-known Normandy, yet photographically extraordinary. A terrain I have known for a long time.
