To photograph a wedding facing Mont-Saint-Michel is to work with one of the most powerful settings in the world. I work across the bay with a documentary eye — revealing the emotion, never forcing the scene.

The Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel, a UNESCO World Heritage site, offers settings like no other — the salt meadows, the great tides, the shifting expanses of sand and, against the backdrop, the silhouette of the abbey. The light here is immense and the landscape transforms hour by hour: every wedding is unique.
Before a setting as powerful as Mont-Saint-Michel, the trap would be to pose everything. I do the opposite: I let the couple exist within the landscape and I capture the right moments. Emotion first, the monument second.
