The Potigny family trusted me with a family session out in nature, in the Forêt de Marigny, in the Manche. A simple setting — trees, a footpath, light filtering through the leaves — yet one that changes everything. In the forest, children forget the lens. Parents relax. And the real images appear.

The Forêt de Marigny, like so many others around Saint-Lô and across the Normandy bocage, offers a natural backdrop for outdoor family sessions. No need for a château or a beach: a well-lit woodland is enough, especially in late afternoon when the light slips sideways between the trunks.

I offer outdoor family photo sessions throughout the Manche, the Calvados and Normandy. Forests, beaches, the banks of the Vire, meadows, gardens — each place brings a different mood. The forest is intimacy and soft light. The beaches are space and room to breathe. The bocage is golden light and quiet.

With children, the outdoors has another advantage: they have room to move. They run, they explore, they forget they are being photographed. It is precisely when they forget the camera that the images become real.

A family session
in the forest — how does it work?

A family session lasts about an hour and a half — the right timing for children. We walk, we stop, we play. I let the rhythm find itself. I am there to catch the true moments: a burst of laughter, a glance between parents and children, an unprompted hug.

The photos are delivered within two weeks through a private online gallery. For indoor family sessions (poor weather, very young babies), I also have a mobile studio that I bring straight to your home in the Manche or the Calvados.
