Audrey trusted me with a maternity photo session deep in the forest, in Calvados. Outdoors, in natural light, with no studio and no staging. The forest in late-afternoon light has something incomparable for this kind of session: the vertical lines of the trunks, the soft diffusion of light through the leaves, the silence that slows everything down.

An outdoor maternity session is the exact opposite of the clichéd photos you see everywhere. No tulle, no flower crown, no rehearsed pose. Just a woman, her bump, and the light deciding for us.

I photograph pregnancy sessions across the whole of Normandy — Calvados, Manche, Orne, Seine-Maritime. Outdoors, in the forest, on the beaches, in the bocage countryside — or at your home with my mobile studio. The idea is always the same: a setting that suits you, natural light, and images that are simple and strong.

The best time for a maternity session is between the 7th and 8th month. The bump is nicely formed but you are still mobile, comfortable walking in the forest or on the beach. The session lasts around an hour — long enough for a varied set of images, short enough not to tire you out.

how does it work?

Together we choose the location (forest, beach, garden, your home) and the time (ideally 2 hours before sunset). You bring your own outfits — often a long, flowing dress, sometimes simply a plain white t-shirt. No need for heavy make-up: natural light softens everything.

Once there, we walk and take our time. I guide you just enough for you to feel at ease — without posing. If your partner, your children or someone close comes along, we include images of you together. The aim is to come away with a series of images that tells the story of this moment.
