How much does
a wedding photographer in Normandy cost?

It is probably the first question you ask yourself when looking for a photographer for your wedding. And it is a question you do not always dare to ask directly, as if talking about money spoiled the magic a little. Yet it matters: your photographer will take up a share of your wedding budget, and you have every right to know why.

I will answer with complete transparency, sharing the usual range of rates charged in Normandy, my own packages, and above all the factors that make the price vary. You will then understand why no serious photographer can give you a rate without asking you questions about your wedding.

The range of rates in Normandy.

In 2026, here is the usual range of rates charged by professional wedding photographers in Normandy:

• From €600 to €1,000: very partial coverage (1 to 3 hours), a beginner or semi-professional photographer. High quality risk.
• From €1,200 to €1,800: coverage of the ceremony, drinks reception and cocktail hour. An established professional photographer.
• From €1,800 to €2,800: extended coverage, from the preparations through to the start of the evening. An experienced professional photographer.
• From €2,800 to €4,500: full-day coverage (preparations → first dance). A recognised photographer, sometimes award-winning.
• Beyond €4,500: a high-end, internationally awarded photographer, or a destination wedding involving long-distance travel.

These ranges correspond to the all-inclusive rate: the shoot, the post-production of the photos, the online gallery. Any optional extras (printed album, prints, engagement session) are charged in addition.

Rather than offering fixed packages, I have built an online configurator that lets you put together your day à la carte. Here are the three base packages from which everything can be adapted:

You can of course build your estimate à la carte by choosing only the moments that matter to you: preparations alone, ceremony only, adding an engagement session, and so on.

What makes the rate vary from one photographer to another.

Why does one photographer charge €800 and another €3,000 for the same wedding? Several factors come into play:

• Experience and level of recognition. An internationally awarded photographer (ISPWP, Fearless, etc.) offers a guarantee of eye and experience that a photographer at the start of their career cannot.
• The length of coverage. From 3 hours to 14 hours, it is not the same commitment — and tiredness always shows in the evening images.
• Equipment. A professional photographer invests €15,000 to €30,000 in gear (camera bodies, lenses, flashes, backups) that must be amortised and renewed.
• Post-production time. A wedding shoot means 300 to 600 images selected, edited and delivered via a private gallery. Allow 25 to 60 hours of work after the wedding depending on the volume.
• Professional insurance, data backup and overheads. A professional photographer has running costs that do not appear on the quote but which justify it.

Why I do not offer a fixed package.

No two weddings are alike. An intimate wedding of 30 people does not call for the same coverage as a wedding of 200 spread over two days. A wedding 15 minutes from my home does not cost the same as a wedding 200 km from Saint-Lô.

Rather than selling you a "wedding from €1,500" package with hidden extras everywhere, I have built a system where you put together your day freely, and where the rate adjusts as precisely as possible to what you really want.

The deposit and payment terms.

Once your estimate is confirmed, we talk over the phone or by video call to settle the details. If we confirm together:

• A deposit of at least 40% on signing the contract — this is what locks your date into my diary.
• The balance paid before or on the wedding day.
• No hidden costs: the quoted rate includes the shoot, post-production and a secure online gallery.
• Travel included within a 50 km radius of Saint-Lô; beyond that, specified in the quote according to the distance.

And for weddings in Manche, Calvados and Normandy?

Based in Saint-Lô, I work throughout Normandy: Manche (Saint-Lô, Coutances, Granville, Cherbourg, Bayeux), Calvados (Caen, Bayeux, Lisieux, Honfleur), Orne, Seine-Maritime, Eure. Travel is built into my price for the vast majority of weddings in Normandy.

For destination weddings (Paris, the south of France, abroad), I adapt with a tailored quote that factors in travel and any accommodation.
